<p>i believe that we too often look at health and fitness as something that is not that important, little things that we should do but in our busy lives we sometimes overlook.</p>

<p>Keep your exercise routine interesting by avoiding repetition. Make sure you spice it up! Boredom is the biggest enemy of a productive workout. You may lose faith entirely and stop your work out if you don&#8217;t have the right determination. Always remember that variety is the spice of life, so change up your exercise routine every now and then. This will help you to stay motivated in the long run. If you stop working out, you will risk losing all of the progress that you have already made.</p>
<p>Rewarding yourself is one of the best ways to keep your fitness plan exciting. Rewards do not have to wait until you have achieved your ultimate goal. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Moderate drinking </strong>may help prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes. Those are the findings of a recent study published in the journal <strong><a href="http://diabetes.diabetesjournals.org/">Diabetes</a></strong>.</p>
<p>The Health Professionals follow up study traced the progress of 38,031 men who were initially screened to be free of the diagnoses of diabetes and  cancer.</p>

<p>After 4 years the study showed the moderate drinkers  had a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes than light drinkers and non-drinkers.</p>
<p>These new findings support an<strong> <a href="http://www.healthandage.com/professional/Moderate-alcohol-protects-against-type-2-diabetes">earlier review</a></strong> published in 2005 that indicated that moderate drinking was associated with a 30 % reduced risk of type 2 diabetes as well as a reduced risk of heart disease.</p>
<p>The definition of moderate drinking varied between these two studies. For the most recent, moderate was defined as 5 &#8211; 29.9 grams per day while the earlier review set the bar a little higher, defining moderate as 6 &#8211; 48 grams per day. The most recent recommendation is the most widely used, so it would be likely that most recommendations would classify moderate as 5 &#8211; 29.9 grams.</p>
<p>For <strong><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_drink#cite_note-5">perspective</a></strong> 0.6 fl Oz or 500 ml of 5% alcohol beer is considered 13.5 gm of alcohol, which works out to about 1.5 standard drinks. Drinks with a higher alcohol content would naturally require less volume to achieve the limit described.</p>
<p>The researchers were clear to point out that this is not intended to encourage those who do not drink to start doing so.  Alcohol has other risks associated that prevent the recommendation of moderate drinking as a public health measure.</p>

<p><a href="http://money.blogs.time.com/2011/01/11/pushing-fast-food-like-never-before/">Time magazine</a> comments on a<a href="http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/2011-01-11-fastfooddeals11_ST_N.htm"> US Today </a>story that fast food companies are   offering tantalizing deals early in the new year:</p>
<ul>
<li>Two-for-ones at BK</li>
<li>Cheap Pizza at a few major Pizza outlets</li>
<li>Big deals for big meals at Jack in the box</li>
<li>And not to be outdone, all you can eat pancakes at I-hop</li>
</ul>

<p>Like them we should try to put our passions aside and stay resolute.  Put the thing out of mind and keep the greater goal in mind. Stay on course with our diet and exercise plans and take comfort in improvements that follow.</p>
